WHAT?!
It took just a few seconds for utter confusion to break out.
🤔 First, this would mean that it’s “wrong” to ask people to comment a keyword on their posts – which is the whole strategy behind the “comment keyword” phenomenon happening now on social.
🤔🤔 Second, Manychat (the most popular chatbot software that powers DM automations) is a
VERIFIED PARTNER of Instagram.
🤔🤔🤔 Additionally, the data from my years of using Manychat shows that posts asking for engagement (AKA certain keywords) DO, in fact, get recommended to non-followers.
After hours of confused comments
stacked up under their video, Instagram removed it.
(The @Creators account doesn't have the strongest history of giving out reliable and accurate information. Sorry, not sorry.)
So here's the bottom line:
✅ Manychat is STILL a verified partner of Instagram
✅ It’s still okay (and super profitable) to use DM automation
✅ IG’s video was
giving silly, just-plain-wrong advice and has since been removed
✅ Your post reach will NOT be limited by asking for engagement
Additionally, head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, continues to invest in DMs because it's where people spend
the most time – over stories and over scrolling the feed. ⤵️
