I know that sounds counterintuitive.
But in my experience, people who have "I'm motivated" tattooed across their forehead, usually don't do a whole lot.
I'll give
you a quick example.
I once recruited a guy named Mark into my business.
He was pretty upbeat and had a positive vibe.
Could definitely use the extra cash.
And
considering he had too much month left at the end of the money... there was plenty of motivation for this guy to get after it.
In fact when we first met, he outright told me...
"Ken, I need this and I'm very motivated to do it. You just tell me what to do and I'm all over it."
Whoa... after struggling to find anyone to sign up, that was music to my ears.
Anyhow...
Mark signs up and we have a big local event coming up the following weekend. A perfect springboard for a new person.
But, that
weekend was a problem for Mark to attend.
Turns out, Mark is an avid gamer. And this was in November, a big gaming month at that time.
Now let me paint a quick picture of Mark's situation...
Late 40s. No retirement savings. And buried in debt, which
is already after filing for bankruptcy once.
Sadly, that's a very typical situation I've seen more times than I can remember.
So with that in mind, and knowing that Mark is "motivated" to do this business, I was absolutely shocked when he said...
"Ken, I can't go to this business event. I'll have to make it to the next one. You have to take time to destress with this annual gaming event."
I kid you not, these were the exact words of a guy on a brink of a second bankruptcy.
And as you can probably guess, the next big meeting didn't happen
either.
I kept in touch with him for a long time after that, until a few years ago.
Last I spoke with Mark, he was in his late 50s.
Still hustling trying make a buck.
Still pretty upbeat that some day he'll retire.
And still having too much month at the end of the money.
But hey....
It's been almost quite some time now since I first met this guy.
And let me tell you...
Most people you'll meet would rather "destress with gaming", than take the time to learn diligently and take massive actions in creating multiple sources of passive income. So they can live in paradise for the rest of their life.
Whatever your
definition of paradise is.
My only regret is that I spent way too much of my precious time, effort, and energy trying to get them to see it.
Time I'll never get back.
Which is why today I have no time to waste with people who 'don't get
it.'
And I believe you should make NO EFFORT to pursue them.
Instead...
Get the right people to pursue you.
And leave those people whome don't get it alone.
If that sounds like a better plan to you...
