How often do you send an email to your audience?
I have my weekly newsletter plus if I have some really special news to share I’ll send you another email. So on average I will send 1 - 2 emails a week.
When it’s time to write this weekly newsletter it takes me a few hours. Why? Because it’s important that I provide value in each newsletter. It’s why you continue to read this newsletter week in and week out.
But like you, I have other responsibilities that need to get done. It seems something
important always pops up the week I’m scheduled to write this newsletter (sound familiar?).
There is no such thing as a typical week in our world. You may have new clients that need coaching, a rush of orders from your shop that need to be fulfilled, or maybe something from your personal life that puts a little added pressure on getting that email
out.
But at the same time, I know the importance of sending this newsletter. Emails keep us top of mind, they help sell products, book appointments, get people reading our content, help us develop a relationship with our customers and so much more.
Now that I’ve told you the obvious about email, how can you spend less time writing and creating your emails - and more time dedicated to running your business.
Here are some “give me more time back in my day” features that will help you be more efficient with your emails, without losing that personal touch that makes your emails so
amazing.
Drive more traffic to your content
One of my personal favorites. This is great if you want to share a blog post or podcast episode. Pull the feed element icon into your email, add your blog’s URL and it will automatically display the page title, description, and image.
Increase your video views
Similar to the feed element, pull the video icon into your email, add your YouTube URL and a thumbnail image from your video and a play button is automatically added to your email. When someone clicks on the image, it send them to YouTube to watch the video.
If you sell a product, just drag the Product element into your message, fill in some simple information about your product, and wham! You’re highlighting a product without any need to fiddle with design. If you sell on Etsy, it’s even easier. You can pull your Etsy products right into your email.
Bring your emails to life
Want to add design quality images, but you don’t have a creative bone in your body (welcome to my club)? That's what Canva’s for. Canva is a free online graphic design tool. And it’s built directly inside the email message editor. Bring your emails to life by dragging the image icon into your email, then select “Design on Canva.”
Save time with keyboard shortcuts
Anytime you go to a new line in your email, you can just type “/” to add all sorts of content without having to take your hands off your keyboard. You can quickly add elements like an image or video and set styles like headers, numbered/bulleted lists, or block quotes.
Get help from AI
Looking for content ideas, need subject line help, or want someone to proofread your email? You can use the AI Writing Assistant, this uses the same engine as ChatGPT.
Just click the + icon on any line of your email and “Write with AI” is your first option. Now just ask AI. Here are some prompts to help you get started.
Personalize each email
When you’re typing in the email message editor a navigation bar appears at the top, go to the @ symbol to use dynamic content to include personalized information specific to individual subscribers in your emails.
Here are some more details on using personalization in your emails.
