Here's a confession, my friend...
I certainly had a few cringeworthy prospecting conversations in the early days of building my home business.
I can laugh now... because it's practically a "rite of passage" to do a few embarrassing things when you're new to this industry.
But looking back, some of these situations were just downright avoidable, ineffective, and just made me question what I was doing.
Unfortunately, those practices are still out there, being taught as "fundamentals."
Are you the type of leaders of your team that still teaching this type of methods?
What are they?
Here are 5 common prospecting tactics that are STILL being taught... despite doing more harm than good.
1. Making a "list of 100."
I know, it's where we all start...but it didn't take me long to realize that the VAST majority of my friends and family weren't interested in joining my team or
buying my health products! And quite a few of those who were were just supporting my home business because they love me (thanks to Mom!)
2. "Smiling & dialing."
Granted, you're probably not grabbing the yellow pages and calling every local real estate agent these days, but
DMing copy+paste scripts on social media isn't much different in practice and will result in you getting "ghosted."
3. Home parties.
This isn't to knock anyone who's getting results (some might do), but if you're anything like me, you don't want people at your house from seven to ten o'clock at
night (or beyond!)
4. "Sizzle cards."
Now, you might not have stepped foot in a Barnes & Noble recently, but if you're using your social profile like a billboard for sales and promotions and then
spamming random groups, then you might as well be putting oversized business cards in copies of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" or "The 4-Hour Work Week."
5. Prospecting your waiter/waitress.
Most of us were taught to "prospect anyone within 3 feet" or "the 3-Foot-Rule", but now I shudder to think about
being pushy and entrapped people in the service economy, who are incentivized to be polite and listen to your "spiel." Ugh!
It's time to put these outdated tactics to bed. Forever.
They're inefficient, gross, and completely lack leverage.

Even if some technically still work, because most of us don't know any other better ways, especially when we got desperate.
The truth is, there are much better ways to find prospects (who actually WANT more info).
For me, all this outdated, inefficient and inauthentic ways ended when I discovered attraction marketing.
So you tell me...
Would you rather approach random people, online and off, with a hidden agenda
and start INAUTHENTIC conversations with leading questions and ulterior motives... or create the type of content on social media that ATTRACTS the right people to you?

Here's what Bec has to say...
"I was able to become a top producer within 9 months of getting started with my company, hit the top rank in
the 9 months after that, and now my team has grown to 15,000 reps. The best part is that I’ve gotten these results without actively prospecting a single person."
How cool is that?
