There’s an unwritten rule in network marketing that's pretty much carved in stone...

Which says that you should be coachable and not reinvent the wheel.

I think it’s a great idea to follow people who have gone before you, achieved great success, and model them.

However…

I also believe it’s important to have the ability to think “outside the box” and follow your own instincts and intuition.

One of the challenges for many folks in our business, is having an upline who is not fully onboard with different recruiting and building strategies.

Especially those that involve using the internet.

Some don’t fully see the value of using the internet to recruit.

Others don’t agree with mixing advertising and network marketing.

And then there are those, who are downright AGAINST anything that contradicts any tactic or strategy they were taught.

I routinely see that with people in our community, and personally had to face some heavy criticism in my own direct sales career.

In fact, at one time I had really mixed feelings about it too.

On one hand, I fully agreed that you need to be coachable.

That you shouldn’t “reinvent the wheel”… and just follow in the footsteps of those who have gone before you.

BUT…

On the other hand…

I've also spent YEARS doing it, and had very hit and miss results.

So I thought…

“Well, if you can get creative, and find a way to get to more people, and as a result recruit and sell more… WHY THE HECK NOT?”

And even though some uplines can even get downright nasty about it, and many of them do, here’s the kicker…

If you end up growing your business, building a bigger team, and making a lot more buckeroos… doesn’t your upline WIN?

Won't their slice of the pie get proportionally bigger as YOU grow?

You bet it will.

And so if you find a different way to recruit and build that works better for YOU…

They should be THANKING you, and not be unhappy or even lecture you for it.

Makes sense?
